Vegas Vacay

Got back from Vegas earlier this week.  Enjoyed spending time with family.  The first night was my one and only lucky night.  I was on my last $3 of money budgeted for gambling that night and this happened...

Then all these pennies came...

My sister joined the party and it was off to Caesar's Palace for a little bit of shopping at Anthropologie.

Then it was time to hit Serendipity and try their famous frozen hot chocolate.  It was a very sweet but cool treat for a warm Vegas day!

Bellagio was gorgeous as usual.  There were tulips and giant bees covered in flowers everywhere.  It was a beautiful spring display.

We hit The Cosmopolitan one night to check out the Wicked Spoon buffet.  The decor of the hotel is ultra cool and modern.

The buffet got a thumbs up from us.  Well worth the $35.  We got there shortly before it opened and there was already a line.  Love the presentation of the food.  Shrimp on grits was a favorite, as well as the gelato bar.

The next day, we had lunch at Todd English's Olives restaurant at Bellagio.

The butternut squash ravioli was sweet and tasty.  The picture doesn't look that appetizing, but it was delicious.  The table next to us was having the flat bread, which looked really good.

Of course if you stay downtown, you can always get your fill of Lappert's ice cream, butterfish, and oxtail soup.

So long Vegas.  I need to save money so I can come visit you again.

Las Vegas Baby...

I was on hiatus from my annual Vegas trips while managing the stores, but now I'm back on track. My dad loves the Vacations Hawaii tour packages, so we left on Thursday and came back on Tuesday. Scratch that. We left on Friday because Omni Air International sucks and there was a major delay. Despite our trip being cut a day short, we still managed to get a lot done.

Here I am waiting at the airport. Love my new Banana Republic booties. They match everything and were an additional 40% off when I bought them in-store a few weeks back.

Here's me and my pops riding the shuttle bus to the California Hotel. I do like that you don't really have to worry about picking up your luggage and can get straight to the gambling.

Buddha in the lobby of the Cal...

Main Street Hotel and Casino, where we spent many hours gambling and eating...

Banana cream pie from the Main Street buffet...

Lappert's ice cream, where I bought a mocha every night to keep me going...

We made a stop at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop because a certain Pawn Stars fan wanted me to bring home a Chum Lee shirt. We thought it was open 24 hours, so we went late one night hoping to miss any lines. Turns out they only buy stuff from sellers through a small window 24 hours, but the shop itself is not open 24 hours. We were told that all the main people on the show are never in the shop anymore. Got my shirt and got out.

Went shopping at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, because they have an Urban Outfitters and H&M. I was intrigued by the giant stripper with pole located in the mall. Only in Vegas.

Passed a Savers and convinced my dad to stop, so I could search for vintage goodies. No luck. It was all too new to be considered vintage cool.

Also checked out The Orleans, M Casino, Hilton, and Stratosphere.

Ended my stay with breakfast with my favorite Vegas residents.

So glad to have taken a vacation but so tired and unready to get back to work.
