Pretend shopping...

Since this economy has me broke, I am pretend shopping on-line. I put it in the shopping cart, but I don't buy. Here's what's in my pretend shopbop shopping cart this week.

Garlic Heaven

Went to Sugoi for lunch. Garlic ahi was delicious. That sauce is awesome.

When I figure out how to use it, I will have fabulous blog posts and snap worthy pictures from my phone!!

Bruce knows the way to my heart...

is through the cupcakes in my tummy. I was surprised with the best gift yesterday...cupcakes from Cake Couture in Aina Haina. They have the best red velvet on the island (that I've tasted to date).

I also got to taste their Chocolate Mint and Banana Caramel....yum!

Hooray for frosting and the man that buys it for me!!

Never met a cheesecake I didn't like...

I worked all weekend, so the sum of my exciting weekend was the food on my desk. After a busy Saturday, I swung by La Palme D'or at Ala Moana and got my favorite jelly au lait with milk and a slice of Cheese D'or, their cheesecake. Mmmm.....

On Sunday, Melanie brought me an oreo and white chocolate truffle. It was yummers!!

The Story Behind the Hello Kitty Dress....

I took these pictures last November, when I was in L.A. visiting Kalei and working. They were part of the Hello Kitty 3 Apples show in Culver City. I took pictures of pictures of Lady Gaga.

I was totally in awe of this dress made of stuffed Hello Kitties.

While waiting for the series finale of the Hills to come on last night, we watched Double Exposure on Bravo. They had the photo shoot that these pictures came from! I had no idea that GK was the mastermind behind the Hello Kitty dress. Amazing!!

Melanie's mom made blueberry buckle and I got to taste it! It's like a cake with blueberries and a streusel-like topping. Needless to say, it was bursting with blueberries and delicious. Did I share with anyone? Nope!

Thanks to Bruce, I am on my way to becoming an IPhone 4 user. I've been waiting for my contract to end with T-Mobile, so I could make the switch and now I just have to wait a week or 2 before it arrives at my neighborhood AT&T.

Of course, I'm thinking about what kind of cover I'm going to get. I came across some craziness on etsy...



Hmm...I wonder if I would be super perturbed if I lost a huge jewel or fake donut.

Toy Story 3 rocked!

After hearing high recommendations for Toy Story 3 from several people, we decided to check it out last night in 3-D. Needless to say, we loved it.

I particularly enjoyed Mr. Pricklepants, a new toy porcupine dressed in German gear...

The much older version of Buster was also super cute. He reminds me of some dogs I know.

Definitely check this movie out. Reminds you of all the mementos from your childhood that held such sentimental value.

4th of July=Shopping!

It's a frickin awesome time to shop! I got my 20% off pass for Ala Moana and I will try to do some damage this weekend!!!

I saw the parking lot area behind Sears is blocked off, as they're getting ready for Sunday's concert/fireworks show. I love 4th of July. It's so summer and it reminds me of my sister's birthday which is on the 5th.

Sold out movie madness....

We went to check out The Last Airbender last night at Ward Theaters. It was sold out, but we managed to get good seats. The fans of the tv series in my group really liked the movie. My favorite part of the movie was the flying bison, Appa. Yip! Yip!

Awesome acai bowl!

If you're looking for an awesome acai bowl in Hawaii, check out the one at Island Vintage Coffee. I am a regular at the Ala Moana Center location. Honey goodness! The granola is not chunky or hard to chew and the fruit is yummy.

This is so addicting and definitely snap worthy.

Ice Ice Baby

Tuesday was a beautiful day. Shave ice on a summer day is a must in Hawaii. John's Grocery in Nu'uanu is the kind of mom and pop shop that generations have visited year after year. I love small businesses that are rooted in neighborhoods.
